DEC. 26: New or New-to-Me Authors

I LOVE finding new authors and as of today, I’ve read from 100 new/new-to-me authors. And I’m so damn proud of that. Last year, I made a point to read from authors I haven’t before and I wanted to up that number, this year. I know that Kindle Unlimited can be a mixed bag, but there’s a ton of gems if you’re willing to look for them.

Because I can never settle for 10, I’ll be adding some honorable mentions from ones I’ve really enjoyed this year!

Sydney Smyth

If you have Audible, this is an absolute must! Such a cute story with a high school crush and for being a novella, it checked off all the boxes for me.

Elena Armas

Bookstagrammer turned author or slash author! As a bookstagrammer/blogger, I’ve been following Elena for quite some time and was elated when she mentioned publishing a book. I was all over that and am soooo happy for all her success. And another book is on the way and I can’t wait!

Laura Lovely

I found out about Laura Lovely through a fall reading challenge and this book was recommended. And it was so damn good, as far as novella goes, it wasn’t what I expected and it did not disappoint. Definitely going to be on the lookout for more books by this author, soooo keep them coming!

Ali Hazelwood

This book was on my radar several months before it was released, a fellow bookish friend convinced me that I needed to get my hands on this. The amount of times I tried to request this book with zero luck, but managed to try the audio a week before it came out. Fanfiction writer to published author, huge success and I’m so damn happy for Ali. Truly enjoyed this.

Alexandria Bellefleur

When an authors writes a book with your least favorite tropes and then you end up loving it! Yeah, Alexandria did that in Written in the Stars. It was an insta-love for me as soon as I started this book and I’ve been enjoying every book from this series. Forever a fan and can’t wait for more by Alexandria.

Shain Rose

I stumbled upon Shain’s book through a review tour with a PR and I was hooked. I went to their backlisted books and started bingeing it all. Reverie is definitely my favorite by Shain and it’s an author I’ll keep a lookout for from here on out. If you have KU definitely check out their books!

Charlotte Stein

Since I’m a mood reader through and through, I saw a fellow bookish friend tweet about a high school bully who was sitting shotgun when they hit the heroine with a truck. Like WTF? And since I do read bully romances, I wanted to see what this was about. I haven’t seen anything recent by this author, but hopefully that changes.

J.M. Darhower

Ghosted has been on my TBR for years and the one bookish friend that I trust with book recommendations kept sending this one my way. I hated that took FOREVER to finally start because the writing is perfect. I loved this emotional second chance and I can’t wait to get to the backlisted books of Darhower. This book makes my favorite for the year!

Negeen Papehn

Negeen is definitely an author that needs to be on people’s radar especially if you like emotional reads. Yes, I love a good cry during my reads occasionally. Negeen won me over instantly with Set to Music and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for the future! Give me all of it.

Zoey Draven

Last but not least, Zoey Draven was an unexpected surprise because I don’t normally pick up alien books. This was another recommendation from fellow bookish friends and this series is in KU. I DEVOURED this series and have re-read favorite scenes days after I read all of them. I wish I could read this series for the first time again. So yeah, Zoey is on my list forever and I can’t wait for more!
