One thing that I always actively seek out are books by authors I haven’t read from before. I read from 47 different authors this past year, quite a few were authors that I’ve heard of before, but haven’t read from yet. Anthologies was one of the best ways to discover new to me authors and that’s when I started going through the backlist of some of these authors. Other than that, many were recommended to me.

I love discovering new authors to read from and I always try to read from as many as I can every year.

Let’s get to my top faves from this year!

Fave New to Me Authors

T.J. Klune

The Green Creek series goes down as my top favorite series from this year. And they were probably the most emotional books I’ve read. Truly loved each book and allllllll the characters. I can’t wait to go through T.J.’s backlist and just devour each and everyone of his books!

Kerrigan Byrne

Many of you know that historical romance is not quite my jam, but I’ll pick up one every now and then. I read All Scot and Bothered and really liked it a lot. Any time I like a romance, it’s a major win!

Pam Godwin

Where are my dark romance readers at? Sea of Ruin, anyone? Definitely a book that’s not for everyone because of the content, but I loved this book so much and it’s on my 2020 fave! Pirate romance and I guess considered to be a historical romance as well.

K.A. Knight

Den of Vipers

Another dark romance recommendation for you and it’s a reverse harem/polyamory! Den of Vipers was probably my second read with polyamory and I hope more authors write this into their books, next year.

Jenny Holiday

A PRINCESS FOR CHRISTMAS BY JENNY HOLIDAY

I’ve generally struck out with holiday romances and A Princess for Christmas was the first one I read this year that I truly loved. Best way to describe it was a Hallmark royal romance with lots of steam, and honestly, that’s all I ask for. Many holiday romances don’t always pack the steam and that’s what I’m usually looking for … always.

Marley Valentine

Without You was one of my favorite M/M reads from this past year. I’m a bit disappointed that I haven’t gone through their backlist of books already, but it’s on my TBR for 2021. Definitely recommend this read!

Rina Kent

Not too long after the pandemic started, I needed grittier reads to get me through each day. I wanted to expand my dark romance author list and got into bully romances. Which was new for me because I actually despised the trope for a whole, but realized that I like reading them. I had audio for the first book in the Royal Elite series and I was hooked. I binged the entire series, but still have a few more to read.

Natasha Knight

Salvatore by Natasha Knight

I found Natasha through a dark romance anthology and picked up Salvatore, which was a dark mafia romance. It wasn’t quite as dark as I thought it would be, but still enjoyed the story immensely.

Gena Showalter

So Gena has been on my list of authors to read from for quite a few years, but I just haven’t yet. But then I fell into your YA fantasy and I’m hooked. The Forest of Good and Evil series is what lured me in, fantasy has always been a challenge for me, but I really enjoyed this. Book 1 was more YA, but book 2 was definitely NA and the romance lover in me, loved that book a bit more.

Katee Robert

I need to read more books by Katee! I’ve been seeing their name everywhere and it wasn’t until a PNR readathon that I picked up Sacrifice. Absolutely devoured it and now I’m ready to read more.

I’m definitely a bit behind on sharing my top 10 posts, but I’ll keep it going as long as I have the motivation to do so. With 2021 now here, I can’t wait to read more books by these authors!
