Look at that, I made a reel, it's been a while and IG didn't crap up the process. That's a win.

Audiobooks and ebooks are definitely my preferred format, but most recent, audiobooks have been winning. However, I've been going back and forth between my physical copies and audio for this stack 📚

Just finished Love in the Time of Serial Killers by Alicia Thompson and started Luck & Last Resorts 🎧

/read any books this year that wasn't something you expected?

That's another thing about mood reading, the books I've come across this year (while many were meh), quite some gems out there.

If you're considering picking one or these up, definitely check out the content warnings. My mood rarely takes me towards a light hearted and sweet romance.

/for my dark romance readers, how do we like the c /for my dark romance readers, how do we like the captive trope?

Let me introduce you to the book that has me in a bit of hangover. NOTE: I have the wrong book with a different pen name, apologies!

I haven’t read a ton, but picked up this one and said why not. Dark Poison is my first read by Bella Jewel and what an addicting read this turned out to be. There's definitely a lot to unpack in this and I kind of went in a little blind. In this, we have a dark romance with the captive trope. The enemies to lovers in this was fantastic and my angst loving self was eating it all up. And don't even get me started on all the suspense. Just the read I was looking for.

Willow and Jagger are quite dynamic, I don't think he quite expected what he got when it came to her. She's a fighter through and through and never backed down. I loved her resilience. Jagger, he's definitely an anti-hero, but those glimpses of how much he actually cared for Willow was 🥰

I did not expect the ending we got and I'm absolutely broken over it, but I have a theory or two. It's such a tough situation to be in, but if it were me, I'd run and never look back.

Absolutely devoured this one in a few others and I'm so invested! September can't come soon enough!!

/where has your mood reading taken you? Well that /where has your mood reading taken you?

Well that was a very unexpected read, especially with a trope (cheating) I don't normally read. If you're here because of my stories as I was making my way through this, here are my thoughts now that I've finished.

I want to start with, these opinions are mine and I'll always seek out if they're redeemable despite how the groveling may go. That's me and I know this isn't always the case for everyone. It's why I don't normally read this trope, but here we are.

Okay! I actually really enjoyed this book, loved the writing. And I'm a huge fan of the heroine especially with how she dealt with the betrayal. She's a fighter, she's feisty and she did not hold back when it came to her husband's infidelity. She what I'd imagine anyone would be if they were still hopeful on saving things. Make them work for it and don't make it easy.

Would I personally give him a second chance? Nope, probably not. Was his reasons justified? I mean are they ever? But in this, I'd say no. His reasons just weren't enough for me to give hope to a resolution. But, I commend his immediate actions, not just words, towards change.

His betrayal as weird as it is to say, pushed them to finally work on things they've pushed aside their entire relationship. There was a ton they needed to work on together and separately, quite the way to do it, if you ask me.

The entire book I really thought there was more to his why, but there wasn't. There was something specific he needed and instead of communicating that to the one person he should have, he went elsewhere.

As far as the cheating trope goes, might rank it up there as the better written ones...not that I've read many. But there's some fun elements in this where I was like whatever sounds great to me 😆

If you don't mind this trope, definitely recommend! If it's a hard no on this, don't. But if you're open to try, go for it!

I'll be checking out the backlist for this author for sure.

/I am tired. Anyone else? It has been quite the s /I am tired. Anyone else?

It has been quite the start for my July, my reading has slowed down significantly and I'm just rolling with it.

I've been going through major leaps with my littles and that has been quite the thing manage. So yeah, I'm tired and just mentally drained most days. So I'm taking things one day at a time over here and that means even more behind on my reading.

Yesterday was a lovely release day and books I'll be getting to very soon. Hope it was the best release day for all of you 💗

/tag you're it. If your relationship was a romance /tag you're it. If your relationship was a romance novel, everyone go do this one.

First of all, apologizes for the absolute 🧀 of a post. I was tagged by @taykealook_ and it looked like a ton of fun.

Second, I'm not a writer. Don't expect the blurb to pull you in 😂 The title I chose is more of a sarcastic one in relation to the military. There's a saying, "hurry up and wait". Extremely fitting for everything that happens in this life. 3/10 do not recommend.

Adding the blurb here because I forgot to add the slide:

One door closes and another opens. A friendship that started online, thousands of miles separate them, but letters and spoken promises kept them close.

Two weeks later, a chance was taken to meet for the first time.

& they continue to live happily ever after.

... to be continued.

Okay, these graphics took me hours and now I'm going to eat a bowl of cheerios and call it a night 🌃
