For the past couple of months, I’ve been wanting to do a little weekly recap of sorts with some non-reading life updates (mixed in) if I had anything to share. I actually run two blogs but have been heavily debating closing my other one because I haven’t blogged on there for quite a while. I’ve been paying money to keep it going, but I’m thinking it’s time to close that chapter. It has actually been really tough for me to close it because I’ve had it for over a decade! It’s my baby and as you can tell, it’s not easy for me to say farewell.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be toying around with different things I want to share with my non-reading life, so the blog posts will probably be different every time.
non-reading update
- I finally made a to-do list of home projects I wanted to get done before my husband comes home from deployment. And with being 23 weeks pregnant, this list is a wee bit ambitious, but I’m hoping to at least get ONE thing checked off.
- Halloween! I actually don’t really care for this holiday, it’s totally my husband’s thing and since he’s not here, I have to give my little the experience of this holiday. I bought 3 bags of candy to hand out to trick-or-treaters, but I’m kind of regretting it since I’ve been going back and forth handing out candy. I’m totally on-board for chucking candy bags at the kids 😂
Onto some reading updates. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with my reading for October, I’m currently participating in #ARCtober and tackling some Netgalley books.
Earlier this week, I binged a series off my Netgalley TBR and reached a 55% feedback ratio! This is a huge deal for me because this has been a long time coming. And many of you know that reaching 60% is my goal for the year and it’s definitely going to happen. Yay.
Books I’ve Read This Week
- The Cabin is an emotional second chance at love romance, it definitely has the P.S. I Love You vibes, so grab those tissues!
- Wild Aces series is an absolute must-read! This series was actually a re-read and it bummed me out so much since Chanel doesn’t really write romance anymore. I actually don’t like reading military romance (for obvious reasons), but all the recommendations for these three books!
Currently Listening To
I snagged the ALC from the Libro.fm influencer program and I’m enjoying it so far. I really like the narrator, but I have a sneaking suspicion that if I read this in print/ebook form, not sure if it would be the same experience.
What’s up next on the tbr?
I have a few ARCs to get through this coming week and I haven’t started a single one. Hopefully, I didn’t screw myself over with these books, but I guess we’ll find out.
I can’t believe we’re heading towards the last week of October, I’ve been so thankful that time has been going by so quickly. Hopefully I have a solid week of reading.
Hope everyone had a great week, here’s to another!

I have spells on my TBR too. I hope we both enjoy it!
I’m just about to start it, which could be a bad idea because it’s already night time!
How did you like it?
I’m still only a couple chapters in so far, but I like it.
