Review

I’m going to start this off by saying that I’m not super acquainted with Rachel’s Eagle Elite‘s series, I feel like one of the last people that haven’t read them yet. So I was pretty excited to start her new mafia series, knowing that you didn’t need to read EE first.

Ruthless Princess was nothing like I’d imagine it would be. And it has nothing with the cruelty and darkness that they’re constantly surrounded by. It was the characters and their stories. How are the kids from the Eagle Elite series going to live a life different than their parents, yet live the mafia lifestyle?

In this one we have Serena and Junior’s story and it’s not an easy one at all. There’s rules that need to be followed , you break them, you die. It’s as simple as that, right? Not quite. Serena and Junior are best frenemies to lovers story that’ll have your emotions all over the place. Complicated doesn’t even cover their relationship since they’re not allowed to be anything, at all.

Rachel pulled me into their story as soon as I finished the prequel, Royal Bully. Their story is very much romeo & juliet and you can’t help but wonder HOW they’re going to get a happily ever after?! It happens, don’t you worry. But your heart will break in the process and you’ll be pushed to the very edge before we get there.

I’ll admit, I wasn’t completely happy by the end, there’s some twists that I didn’t see coming. But I shouldn’t have been surprised that it happened. But I’m hopeful for the rest of the series and many much needed HEAs! What a solid addition to the Mafia Royals series, I am completely sold. Go in blind, buckle up and enjoy the ride.

major thank you to the author for the complimentary copy in consideration for a review. this does not affect my opinion of the book or review.
