Review

Easily one of my top favorites this year! I’ll be honest and say that it has been a while since I’ve read from this series and what a time to jump back into it. I’m a huge fan of Emma Chase’s book with absolutely falling in love with her Legal Briefs series.  And Royally Screwed was such a great start to this amazing series. I foresee re-reading this one over and over again.

When I read the synopsis I never put it together that we’d be going back to the very beginning. And for some reason, I thought historical romance, which I never really read, but I don’t think many historical romance lovers would say this was one. Totally not the point, but I can’t say enough good things about this one.

Lenora, my heart, I loved her character so damn much. Besides the epic love story between Lenora a Edward, she has a duty to her country; to reign. I don’t know about you guys, but whenever I hear royal, I just think epic love story. And I was wondering how she was going to tackle the marriage flaw before she’s Queen. From the day she was born, she was prepped to be a queen. Keeping her emotions in check, never wearing her heart on her sleeve, but beyond that, there’s so much more to her. She’s strong, confident and just unafraid. I loved that she stood up for herself and was willing to challenge anyone without a thought.

Edward, I was just swooning for days over that guy. I was so curious about him since he was first mentioned in the book. The free-spirited and adventurous, Edward. Okay, I lied, not only did Lenora make this book for me, Edward did too. I really enjoyed their heated and witty banter towards one another. For the very little time, they’ve known each other, they endured so much together, a lot of ups and downs. It gave me so many emotions that had me in tears and I just wanted to reach into the pages and hug the both of them. Once he got past her barriers and really saw this other side of her, the admiration for her was instant for Edward. And he knew that he never wanted to be away from her side.

My gosh you guys, Edward and Lenora are just … EVERYTHINGGGG. I can’t say that enough. Their love was deep and untouchable. Edward has such a deep appreciation for Lenora and he knew that he’d always support her through everything during her reign. They went through a lot of pain and heartache, but it was totally worth it in the end.

I don’t read many royal romances, but this one seriously tops all that I’ve read. Their love story is one that you’ll always remember.

Now that I’ve finished this gem of a read, I need to go back to the two books before this and read those!
