Molly Alcott didn’t expect to open her mailbox one summer morning and find an old letter stuffed between bills and a supermarket flyer. Penned in familiar handwriting, dated over fifteen years ago, the letter was written to Molly after her first date with the man she’ll never forget.
Week after week, new letters appear. Each marks an event in the history of their epic love affair. Each heals a wound. Each holds the confession of the man who still owns Molly’s heart.
The letters are full of promise, hope and love, but truth be told, Molly wishes she could unread them all.
Because the man who wrote these letters is not the one sending them.

Well, this is easily going down as one of my top favorites for 2019. I can’t say that I’ve read this trope very much and there was another element that’s my absolute NO when it comes to my reads. But I’m always willing to give it a chance when it’s an author that I love.
Finn and Molly’s story left me speechless. I haven’t read a story like this before, which makes it absolutely original. I simply loved every aspect of their tale, from beginning to end. Finn and Molly were the couple that had it all, but along the way life became more complicated and they weren’t necessarily finding themselves on the same page, anymore. And then one mistake lead to the definite end to their relationship. Even though I knew we’d get a happy ever after, it nearly didn’t feel like it would happen. These two had to dig through the past, through all the pain and hope to start anew.
I went into their story, blind. I wasn’t sure what would come out of it, but with every word that I devoured, my heart was going through the wringer as well. And it did, several times. Everything about their story was just real and relatable. From their hurt, the doubt and complete raw truth, it’s nearly impossible for this book to no affect you in some sort of way.
I’m seriously at a totally loss about what to even say about this book. It’s just perfect in every way, to see a couple who had it all, essentially living the dream to see it quickly crumbling apart. But even after several years apart, their heart is still yearning for one another. You can’t help but root for them.
There was so much growth with their characters and the letters brought the raw and honesty they needed during their marriage. There was love, lost, pain, forgiveness and the the absolute hope for these two to have their second chance.
The highest recommendations and well prepare to fall in love even more with Devney’s work.
