A romantic comedy with the feels
Bet the Farm
Olivia Brent has one summer to save the dairy farm she just inherited.
But there’s one problem, and it’s not her lactose intolerance.
Jake Milovic.
The brooding farmhand has inherited exactly fifty percent of Brent Farm, and he’s so convinced the city girl can’t work the land, he bets she can’t save it in a summer.
Determined to prove him wrong, Olivia accepts what might be the dumbest wager of her life.
His strategy to win seems simple: follow her around, shirtlessly distracting her between bouts of relentless taunting. And it’s effective—if his dark eyes and rare smiles aren’t enough to sidetrack her, the sweaty, rolling topography of the manbeast’s body would do the trick.
What they don’t know: they’ll have to weather more than each other.
Mysterious circumstances throw the farm into disarray, and with the dairy farm in danger, Olivia and Jake have to work together. But when they do, there’s more to fear than either of them imagined.
Because now their hearts are on the line, and the farm won’t be the only casualty if they fail.
Review
Do you want a tear fest, but didn’t ask for one? Yeah? No? Well … read Bet the Farm! I guarantee you might shed a tear or two … maybe several like I did. I have an infinite amount of love for this book. I did not expect it to be so emotional, but I will say it was akin to the emotional level of A Thousand Letters. Which puts this book right up there with that one as top favorites of Staci!
I’ll start off by saying that this had the perfect blend of humor, small town charm, the feels and steammmmmmm. Let me tell you, I live for those moments that happened in this one. You know, the ones that just pull at your heart, leaves you at the edge of your seat and just wanting more!
Staci knocked it out of the park with this enemies to lovers AND where the main characters have a little bit of history. It definitely adds fuel to the fire that’s stewing between them.
I loved Olivia’s optimism and go-getter attitude when it came to saving the farm especially when Jake, the grumpy ray of sunshine, was her biggest barrier.
Jake was so darn broody and grumpy! And he kept his feelings tight and close, barely letting anyone in. But he’s loyal to a fault and will do anything for those he loves. And there’s a secret he has that bears a lot of weight on his shoulders.
Out of all the books I’ve read by Staci, this is hands down her best one yet! There’s no getting over this book and I just want to hug her and this one for ever and ever!
If you’re looking for a rom-com with some emotions, add this to your TBR! You won’t be disappointed… and don’t forget the tissues!
