The Rooftop Crew #5
The Do-Over by Piper Rayne
She was always the one.
Or so I thought.
Turns out my instincts were dead wrong.
Years ago I was faced with the choice between two women. Both were perfect in opposite ways. One was carefree and against commitment. The other was a woman you’d bring home to mom.
I was young, naïve and stupid. I’m sure you can guess who I chose.
Now, I’m older, wiser and know what the hell I want.
So, when the same two women pop back into my life it’s my chance for a do-over. But they flipped the script. Just like me, they want different things now. Leaving me with one choice—convince the woman I want that she wants me too.
Review
Piper Rayne sure do love their series and I’ve rather enjoyed keeping up with The Rooftop Crew. They do a great job teasing the characters to come right from the beginning and it always leaves you hungry for more.
I’ve been waiting for Knox’s story in The Do-Over and they took it in a different direction than I thought they would. And by the end, I was pretty happy with the outcome.
Being Hawaiian, it was nice to see a Polynesian character as the main character, I don’t see it too often (not that I’m always looking). They didn’t dive deep into her Polynesian side, which I was OK with. The one gripe I had was the constant mentioning that she is Polynesian.
It’s pretty tough to write this review because I feel like anything I’d say would be a spoiler. Knox I was a bit uncertain with when it came to his feelings about Leilani, but it didn’t help that everyone constantly reminded him of what it was like when he was with her. She definitely overpowered the story more than I hoped she would.
Overall, soooo happy that we got to know Knox more and he got his happily ever after. Truly an enjoyable story.
