review rating scale

This is my rating scale, may not be ideal for many, but it’s mine. I’m no longer actively updating Goodreads. I’ve switched over to StoryGraph.

5 STARS = AMAZING / WILL RE-READ / MADE ME CRY

Most likely was not able to read another book after some time. Definitely could not put the book down. I cried, perhaps … it’s usually the really good ones that cut me deep. Definitely makes the top favorite list.

4.5 STARS = IT WAS A WIN / MISSING A LITTLE SOMETHING

But still pretty flippin’ awesome. I rarely do the half ratings, but occurs, now and then. For the most part, I loved the book, but there were probably a few things I would have changed.

4.25 STARS = LIKED IT plus a little more / ALMOST A 4.5, not a 4

Simply that, I liked the book.

4 stars = solid read

It was a solid read.

3.75 stars = close to being a 4

Enjoyable read, but many things that kept me from giving it a 4.

3.5 stars = ok read / average

Just an average read, feeling like a storyline I’ve read many times.

3.25 stars = meh / so close

Meh read, but close to being an ok read for me.

3.0 stars = didn’t really like it / may try another from the backlist
