Review
OK, so In Bed With a Highlander is my first historical romance for the year. I think I’ve read two before, but I honestly have no idea. I have a lot of friends who read historical romance and have recommended so many to me. Since I have a bit of a backlist and plenty of time this month, I decided to dive right into one. It was different, but I definitely enjoyed it and I see myself reading more.
The way the characters talk to each other is a little different and something to get used to, but I literally devoured this entire book. And I’m so glad that it’s a trilogy, so eager to read the rest of this series.
Not going to lie, I was a bit nervous about Ewan, some of this thoughts and actions were a little bit questionable. I understand that’s how the way things were back then, but I’m still wrapping my mind around it all. However, Mairin is a bit of a firecracker, I loved how unafraid she was. She never cowered when it came to Ewan and the clan. She was such a perfect fit for the McCabe Clan and I can’t wait to hopefully see more of her feistiness as I get through the series.
I’m definitely making it a goal to read more historical romance in 2020 especially ones with the highlanders. I wouldn’t mind being called a lass 😉
