From New York Times bestselling author Kendall Ryan comes a flirty new standalone about falling for your older brother’s best friend.
There’s pretty much only one rule when you’re a guy.
Don’t be a douche.
Turns out, the fastest way to break that rule is to fall for your best friend’s sister.
Ava’s brilliant, sharp-tongued, gorgeous, and five years younger than me.
She’s the sexual equivalent of running with scissors. In a word, she’s dangerous. And completely off-limits.
Falling for her could ruin everything.
Yet I can’t seem to stop, even when her company is threatened by a lawsuit, and my promotion hinges on representing the opposing client—and winning.
I can’t see a way out of this mess that doesn’t end in a broken friendship, a broken heart, or a ruined career.
I may have broken the bro code when I fell for Ava. But do I have the balls to handle what comes next?
This is definitely a perfect beach read and you can’t go wrong with a book by Kendall Ryan. She could toss any book at me and I’d read them all, I love her characters.
You gotta respect a man who tries his best to honor the bro code. He fought it so damn hard and it was pretty hilarious to watch. And he describes it so well, “she’s the sexual equivalent of running with scissors”.
I loved the banter between these two, so much comedy, but charged with sexual tension. It’s pretty evident the whole time that they wanted each other and watching them skirt around it like a precious little egg was pretty funny.
I loved Ava’s loyalty! Stepping in to fill her dad’s shoes with managing the business, she’s a boss lady. Even when everyone is telling her to just sell the company, she refuses to let her dad and employees down.
When it comes to best friends sister type of romances, I never found it that bad for them to have a relationship. But man, some siblings treat it like their world is ending. It’s almost anti-climatic when they learn the truth anyways.
One character I really loved was Ava’s mom, meddling into people’s business and it’s quite the riot. But mama knows best, everyone should learn from such wise women.
This was a solid four star read for me and absolutely can’t wait for more!
