Review

When I first learned about Blood of Zeus, I was completely excited and couldn’t wait to read it. Plus, Meredith Wild and Angel Payne were authors that I haven’t read from before, so I was rather eager to check out this author duo.

Honestly when I saw the cover, I was totally expecting an action-packed fantasy romance, but that’s not what it is at all. And that was definitely something for me to come around to because it was so different from what I’ve read before with this sub-genre. The deeper I got into the book, I started to realize that this wouldn’t be a standalone and this book was setting the stage for what was to come.

From the beginning, we already know what Kara is and that her future is pretty much set in stone. And in comes Maximus to totally shift her world. I loved the instant connection between them and I was just anticipating what was to come. The forbidden aspect goes beyond student-teacher and we barely touch the surface with how forbidden their relation is. Even with their strong connection, I knew there was something more to them, but that’ll remain a mystery until we get further into the series.

Truly, TRULY enjoyed Blood of Zeus, I was wishing so hard that this would have been a standalone, but there’s so much more to come with Kara and Maximus’ story. There’s a lot of unknowns, but they’re willing to fight against all odds to be together.

This book was nothing like I expected it to be, but I enjoyed it completely. Thankfully we don’t have to wait long for book 2, can’t wait to get my hands on that one!

** minor cliffhanger, but not enough to leave you a mess as you wait for the next installment.

The cover has me looking twice, but I hate it when I recognize the models 🙈 it makes it weird thinking of his face as the character – lol

    1. I didn’t realize how recognizable he was, that was the one comment I got when I shared that cover haha Like I get why they picked him for this book haha But if you do end up reading, I’d wait until the whole series is out. As far as I know, it’s a trilogy…hopefully.
