Review
The Sutter Lake series is definitely one that I’ve been keeping my eye on! The first book Beautifully Broken Pieces really set things up for this series and I was rather eager to get my hands on Beautifully Broken Life. Tessa has a story that isn’t an easy one and I was looking forward to getting to know her better.
Tessa found herself in a tough situation and did everything that she could to get out of it. I can’t even imagine being in her shoes and I truly appreciate authors bringing up real topics with their stories. Being in an abusive relationship with her ex, who would go to all extents to keep her quiet, she did the best that she could in her situation (I think).
As the story progresses we see much of her personal growth, despite everything that she has been through, I admired how strong she truly was. I think it was always there and she just needed to keep one foot in front of the other. She had the best support around her in Sutter Lake. And I loved Liam’s absolute patience and determination when it came to Tessa.
Cowles gives us another man to absolutely fall in love with, each with their own story to share. He was such a genuinely sweet guy to Tessa and I loved that he’d always put her up there. Just constantly supporting and raising her up.
And like the previous book, there’s a bit of suspense. Cowles does a fantastic job combining the two and creating a memorable story.
Another great book to add to your TBR and I’m definitely looking forward to the next book!
