About QUIT YOUR PITCHIN’
What’s wrong with my butt?
She means those words to be directed toward the woman beside her, not him. But he can’t stop himself from answering. Not when her ass is the most magnificent thing he’s seen in his life.
Apparently, answering her with ‘not a damn thing’ wasn’t what she was expecting.
She likely wasn’t expecting the baseball she took to the face at his next at bat, either.
All it takes is one ill-fated foul ball, and George Hoffman, Lumberjacks center fielder, falls head over heels in love with Wrigley Field—and yes, that is her real name.
From that point forward, George and Wrigley fall into a fast whirlwind love that ends with them eloping to Vegas. And he has his potty mouth, titty bar owning, pain in the ass grandmother to thank for it.
Not that he’s complaining or anything.
Who wouldn’t want to be married to a woman that made his heart race like he was in the final game of the World Series?
The only problem is trying to convince her of that.

Review
In true Malia fashion, here I go again reading a book out of order in a series, thankfully Quit Your Pitchin’ is a standalone, so you won’t be lost or confused. I’ve got to say the way that Vale chose to write this story was a bit different than something I’ve read before. I think this is the second book that I’ve read from her, so I’m not exactly sure if she’s written this way previously.
As I was reading, I wasn’t expecting for the story to just coast through the highlights of Wrigley and George relationship, but I was surprised that I didn’t mind it TOO much, I was simply OK with it. You’re still able to grasp the story between these two, be with them entirely as they face some ups and downs in their relationship. Another thing I wasn’t expecting was to go from full out laughing at some parts and then just wanting to curl up into a ball and cry. You’ll definitely cover the plane of emotions with this one.
The one character I found myself mad at on multiple occasions was Wrigley. I did admire her because of everything she faced growing up and still somewhat dealing with in her present life. But she made some not so great decisions down the road when it came to George. However, George wasn’t always a Saint, there were a couple times where I just wanted to slap him in the head and be like “that’s the absolute worst idea I’ve ever heard“!
I’ll be honest and say there were quite a few events that were a bit of a twist for me. And it definitely kept me hooked to see what would happen next in their story. You’ll absolutely love George, he’s definitely what made this story for me. And there were so many time when I just wanted to hug him and tell him it’ll be OK. His family sucks besides his grandma, she’s hilarious and the absolute best.
When I first signed up to read this, I was expecting a full on romcom, which there were definitely so many hilarious banter moments between them. But the angst and drama is there as well, it was quite the mix. I know in some cases, some readers may not like the constant time jumps and all the drama, but I truly didn’t mind it. I didn’t exactly love it either, but I enjoyed this. I’m definitely looking forward to reading more from this author!
