About The Magic of Untamed Hearts by Raquel Vasquez Gilliland
Like her sisters, Sage and Teal, Sky Flores has a touch of magic, and it’s caused nothing but heartache. Not only did she disappear into the woods years ago and reappear with no rational explanation, she’s also more comfortable talking to animals than to people. Different and misunderstood, Sky is shunned in the small town of Cranberry.
Sky’s neighbor, Adam Noemi, has his own problems. After being laid off from a prestigious newspaper, Adam, ever the ambitious reporter, needs a big headline to redeem his career. Enter Sky, a girl with a story that news outlets have been chasing for years. Sky agrees to grant Adam an exclusive interview on one condition: that he befriend Sky, in a very public way, to prove to everyone in Cranberry that she’s not an outcast.
As Sky shares her experiences with Adam, something much bigger than a simple agreement begins to grow between them. But for love to take root, Adam will have to take a leap towards a life that defies expectations, and Sky must open her heart – full of flora and fauna and mystical energies – to his curious mind.

The Magic of Untamed Hearts by Raquel Vasquez Gilliland Book Review
I think The Magic of Untamed Hearts might be my favorite of the series! I’ve been waiting for Sky’s story and while it’s heartbreaking at times … pretty sure I cried one too many times in this one, Sky was just SO, SO refreshing!
I can’t imagine the transition that Sky had to make after being a ghost/in a coma for 8 years, like how do you get past that and continue on with your life? That can’t be easy. And it seems a bit of a barrier with Sky personally, but her relationships with her family as well. Not going to lie, I was rather frustrated with how Sage and Teal were treating her. And I was eagerly awaiting the groveling and apologies. However, I did understand where they were coming from. As someone who has gone through a bout of postpartum depression, it is absolutely no joke and I recognized it instantly.
There were so many elements that Sky was trying to tackle, but my goodness, I was constantly ready to throw down for her at any given moment. And ah, Adam, I was being hesitant at first, but he was very quick to apologize, so he may have won me over rather quickly. I loved that he constantly checked in with her about everything.
This was such an emotional ready, yet a beautiful one. I loved getting to know Sky in this one. Such a strong character and just loved that she truly says whatever is on her mind. I love it! I’m sad to say farewell to this series, but can’t wait to see what Gilliland has in store for us!
