I never thought I’d see Memphis Payne again after I broke his heart, but the stars had other plans.
That if two people are meant to be, they’ll find their way back to each other.
He was the mysterious dark knight always swooping in to save me when I needed it most.
Because here he is…needing me to clean up his mess this time.
And I was his sky…always just out of his reach.
I hope they’re right.
I was the troubled girl with scars and a bleeding heart.
They say only the strongest love can survive an apocalypse.
He was my earth….always keeping me grounded.
He was the gifted guitarist destined for big things.
I was the small-town girl battling her demons.
Our love was everything I wished for.
Doing so will break both our hearts.
Only problem is…

The Choice Review
Well, I’ll start off by saying that I made it, but barely. The amount of times that I wanted to throw my kindle as I made my way through The Choice. I will say if you had any sort of dislike of Josh from The Words, that dislike will increase soooooo much more. Truly wanted to strangle him and steal Skylar and Memphis away from him.
Prepare yourself to go through such a wide range of emotions. If you’re coming into this after finishing The Words, you’ll definitely have a ton of questions answered and a better understanding of these three characters. I was able to connect a lot of dots, but my goodness, I never imagined the beginning of them to be like this. All three of these characters are broken in their own ways and have gone through their share of trauma. And you’ll see that really come through their thoughts and actions, as maddening as they can be.
Ashley warned us from the beginning that we had to get through the extremely tough beginning of Skylar and Memphis story before we get their HEA. And I just know it’ll be all worth it, but I have zero idea how my heart will hold up. I was definitely surprised by certain things, infuriated with naivety of one character (yet understanding why). Your heart will feel one thing, but your mind will make you understand.
Yes, there’s a cliffhanger and oof, knife in the heart. The Consequence won’t be too far away, thank goodnes because that book is an absolute need.
I survived The Choice, but just barely.
Bravo, Ashley… you’ve done it again!
