About Next Level Love by Shameez Patel
When your favorite player turns out to be your very real boss, the rules are a lot more complicated.
Elizabeth Gordon-Bettencourt is rebuilding her life on her own terms, starting with a new internship, a shot at her dream job as a civil engineer, and a whole lot of distance from her family’s drama. With her life full of change, the one constant is @theanswerisno, a charming gamer who seems to just . . . get her. Even if he has no interest in meeting her in real life.
Elizabeth would feel a lot more confident about her job if her new boss wasn’t so hard to read. Lincoln Carden is quiet, demanding, and adamant about avoiding small talk—especially in the office. What she doesn’t know is that online, he’s someone else entirely: quick, confident, and a little bit flirty. And his favorite player to team up with is @pancakesareelite, the one person who never makes him feel like he has to try so hard. As their two worlds start to collide, Elizabeth and Lincoln start to wonder: with their careers on the line and their online friendship at risk, is a romance IRL worth it?

Next Level Love by Shameez Patel Book Review
Screaming, I LOVED IT!
I just want to start off that a couple of my closest friendships started from the online space, and that was truly one of my favorite moments of Elizabeth and Lincoln’s story.
Usually, flashback scenes tend to be a little hard for me to stay engaged, but the way that it was written through their online conversations it was so perfectly done. It just shared the perfect amount as we continuously see their friendship grow. I really enjoyed seeing the crossover from their in-person relationship to their online one. I was so curious and eager to find out where they would finally figure out the reality behind their usernames. Overall, I thought the portrayal of the growth in their relationship was really well done. I know that workplace romances can get a dicey with the ethics of it all, but it was all sorted out in the end and probably ended in more leniency than I anticipated.
Naturally, just like Playing Flirty, the friend group is back in this one and I forever loved it! They’re such a great group of friends or shall I say family. They’re supportive of Lincoln and were even kind … when they were sure if they should have been or not 😉 I loved them so much.
The only thing I was hoping for more closure on was Lily’s situation with her step-father and mother. It did feel like it was wrapped up really quickly especially for something that took up a lot of mental space in this book.
Love, love love and can’t wait to see what Shameez has in store for us!
