ROMANCE SCHMOMANCE | 2022 MY 5 STAR ROMANCE READS | BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS

A bit late getting this post up, but it’s here! I had a grand total of 15 5-star reads in 2022. I definitely expected more, but it was kind of a lackluster reading year. I dove back into some books by fave authors, and read from many new to me authors, so here are the ones that made the cut.

the old and new

The Paper Swan by Leylah Attar | STORYGRAPH | AMAZON | MY REVIEW
2022 was the year for reading mostly backlisted reads and I was sitting on this one for years. I went blind and ended up devouring it. A book I definitely wish I could read for the first time.

God of Pain by Rina Kent | STORYGRAPH | AMAZON | MY REVIEW
I quite enjoy Rina’s books and prefer to listen to the audiobooks. I have never been a fan of second generation books, but I am loving the Legacy of Gods series. And Annika & Creigh are still my fave so far, plus we get to see Daddy Adrian 😉

Because I Need You by Claire Contreras | STORYGRAPH | AMAZON | MY REVIEW
Claire is an absolute fave, an auto-buy author. And this one is my favorite from the series. This is more of a lighter mafia read.

Magnolia Parks by Jessa Hastings | STORYGRAPH | AMAZON | MY REVIEW
An absolute mood read and I was here for every bit of it. A lot of toxic and messy things happening in this one. No HEA in this since it’s a series.

ROMANCE SCHMOMANCE | MY 5-STAR ROMANCE READS OF 2022

Just One Night by Charity Ferrell | STORYGRAPH | AMAZON | MY REVIEW
A new to me author and this is my fave by Charity. Single parent, one night stand and pregnancy are the tropes. These two may have hit it off at first, but it was not an easy ride for them. Quite a bit of angst since the MMC is still dealing with his grief of losing his wife.

Brutal Play by Alison Rhymes | STORYGRAPH | AMAZON | MY REVIEW
Top redemption story goes to this one! You have the OW from the previous book of this series, Broken Play, and a second chance romance. I loved this book, but it’s definitely one of those harder ones to recommend.

The Long Game by Rachel Reid | STORYGRAPH | AMAZON | MY REVIEW
Ilya and Shane, how I’ve missed these two. I feel like I don’t need to say more, but I love these two to pieces and this book was perfection.

juliette cross

ROMANCE SCHMOMANCE | MY 5-STAR ROMANCE READS | JULIETTE CROSS | ALWAYS PRACTICE SAFE HEX | RESTING WITCH FACE

Always Practice Safe Hex by Juliette Cross | STORYGRAPH | AMAZON | MY REVIEW
Grimmmmmmmmm with some major touch her and he’ll you know what vibes. It’s no surprise how much I love Juliette, she’s such an amazing person and author.

Resting Witch Face by Juliette Cross | STORYGRAPH | AMAZON | MY REVIEW
I’ve been waiting for Jules and Ruben’s story for soooooo long and it absolutely did not disappoint! Our favorite witch and vampire duo are finally here!

your sci-fi/paranormal/fantasy romance

Mating the Huntress by Talia Hibbert | STORYGRAPH | AMAZON | MY REVIEW
Can we have more from this world?! Talia, please give us more. This had everything I wanted in a shifter romance.

Alpha Maddox by Emilia Rose | STORYGRAPH | AMAZON
Second chance mate anyone?

Conh by A.M. Griffin | STORYGRAPH | AMAZON
Furry … aliens? Whatever, don’t answer that, but we love Conh in this sci-romance!

Two Scoops of Hellfire by Kimberly Lemming | STORYGRAPH | AMAZON | MY REVIEW
This is a bite-size and delicious erotica by the one and only, Kimberly Lemming.

savage lands and bones

ROMANCE SCHMOMANCE | MY 5-STAR ROMANCE READS | BLOOD LANDS BY STACEY MARIE BROWN | THE OTHER SIDE OF THE GRAVE BY JEANIENE FROST

Blood Lands by Stacey Marie Brown | STORYGRAPH | AMAZON | MY REVIEW
Stacey has been an all time favorite, still haven’t finished the series, but hopefully soon.

The Other Half of the Grave by Jeaniene Frost | STORYGRAPH | AMAZON | MY REVIEW
Bones, that’s all there is to say.
