Tamed, Torn Series #5, is now live! This book focuses on Adam and Amber. Adam is the guitarist with a wild streak in the Torn Series band, Breaking The Hunger. Amber is the best friend of the main character of Torn, Chloe. Both of these characters have a wild streak, something you’re aware of if you’ve read the other Torn Series books.
Tamed can be read as a standalone.
I hope you like your rockers a whole lot dirty, because with Adam, that’s what you’ll get.
Synopsis
Mistakes—my life has been full of them. Time and time again, I’ve tried to change, tried to make the right choices, but it doesn’t matter. I always screw up.
I hoped that Adam would be different, that he wouldn’t be a mistake. Our relationship was supposed to be about sex and nothing more.
Fun, easy, simple—that was what we wanted.
But things are never simple, not for me.
Adam changed me. He made me the person I am today. I hate who I am and what I’ve become. I’m not proud of the things I’ve done.
I thought my greatest mistake would be falling in love with him.
I was wrong.
My greatest mistake is much, much worse.
I’ve lost control.
I have a secret I can’t hide.
It’s going to destroy everything.
My name is Amber, and this is my story.
Review
Oh my dear, who are you fooling thinking you could have sex and not become emotionally involved? Apparently Amber and Adam tried to fool everyone, but just ended up fooling themselves.
Tamed is my first read from K.A. Robinson and I thoroughly loved it! Just so you know, this can be read as a standalone, even though it’s part of a series. And you won’t get the feeling that you HAVE to read the other books to understand each character because I felt like K.A. Robinson did a fineeeeeeeee job developing each character enough without any confusion. BRAVO! She tied all of their storylines perfectly without steering away from the highlight of the story; Amber and Adam.
I was hooked during the entire story, completely drawn. Lets just say that I made my predictions, but they didn’t happen when I thought they were going to happen, so that always caught me off guard and threw me for a loop. My reaction as follows:
Oooooh – steamyyyy hotness – wait what? – and months go by – reunited and it feels so gooooood – steamyyyy hotness – and again with time that goes by – feelings? I sense trouble – OH SHIT – OH SHIT – and I guess you’ll have to read the story to know the rest.
The story spanning over four years was an awesome element and it made so much more real. You get to witness every bit of their emotional roller coaster with each other, she keeps you on your toes and reeling about what’s going to happen next. Usually when you have so much time in a story, it can definitely feel like it’s dragging very slowly, but the pacing was perfecto! There was never a lull phase and that surprised the hell out of me. Skills, I tell ya!
From the beginning, you know why Amber is so shut down on not having a relationship and it’s all about protecting her heart and never wanting to be hurt again. As for Adam, you have to wait much later in the book to learn what pains him so much. And once you witness that side, you can’t help but have your heart break a little bit for him. Granted there were several times where he was a complete douche and was completely appalled with how he treated Amber, but everyone has their own ways of coping and shutting them out, even though we see their true feelings.
I love Amber and Adam! Acting out of love and the fear of the unknown, but that’s what love is.
And oh man, about 90% in, definitely wasn’t expecting THAT to happen! My heart was racing until I finished that book because you know that this story could end two ways!
Absolutely loved this one and will definitely give the rest of the series a try! I’m a new fan, so go get your hands on this one, everyone!
