Review

I’ve never been a fan of Alice in Wonderland, I don’t even think I’ve seen the movie. But from what I heard, you don’t need to watch it to know what’s going on in this book. In saying that, I absolutely loved this book, it’s awesomesauce!
Where to begin? I loved so many elements of the book, to the storyline, the characters, and even the Collector’s Society itself. The whole concept of this story is innovative and it was such fresh thing for me to read. I really don’t think there’s another book out that I could compare this to, this one really stands on their own.
Lyons did an awesome job of really showing each character’s personality and giving us their background story. I was such a fan of Alice, she truly is a badass, even though everyone seems to perceive her as this vulnerable person. And she’s so damn feisty! I don’t think I’d ever say this, but I want to be like Alice. And there’s the beautiful Finn, who becomes Alice’s partner in missions. You’ll just swoon over him, trust me. Together they have amazing chemistry and I love that he treats Alice like an equal, he doesn’t undermine her. And even though he’d love her out of harm’s way, he doesn’t prevent her from doing so, but he sure does his best to protect her.
Every character in the book surprised me! Once you learn who they are, you’ll refer book to the literary piece that they’re from. And probably do a little compare and contrast. I loved that this book was jampacked with adventure and a romance that doesn’t overshadow everything. This is one of those stories where you don’t want angst after angst.
Lyons is such an amazing writer and I’m a new fan of hers!
