ARC Review + Recs | Rivals & A Secret Society: Veiled By SeRaya
He’d never once been tempted to break his oath… until he met her.
Michael Young has only ever cared about two things: being the best cardiothoracic surgeon and Ascending into the House of Atlas on his thirty-third birthday.
Joining Amanar General Hospital was only meant to be another stepping stone in achieving his ultimate success… until he meets his new coworker.
She’s everything he never anticipated. Brilliant, fiercely dedicated, and an enticing challenge he can’t seem to shake.
As their rivalry to become the new medical director heats up, Michael finds himself questioning everything he’s ever known.
He’s never once been tempted to break his oath, but is the chance at something real with her worth losing?

Azara Ziani has always only ever dreamed of one thing—being a surgeon.
Her path to becoming the next medical director was right on track until she’s forced into competing against her new boss for the role.
He’s everything she hates. Arrogant, smug, and a charmingly infuriating thorn in her side who revels in pushing her buttons.
She’s never been tempted to shift her priorities, but her resolve starts wavering when she finds herself thrown into dangerously close proximity with the sexy new doctor.
But when his hidden truth is unveiled, she’s faced with an impossible choice: follow her heart or walk away from him forever.
Veiled is a steamy rivals to lovers secret society romance feat. two competitive surgeons. It is the first book of the Sons of the Atlas series and should be read first.

New to me author and just a premise that I haven’t read before?… Or in a long time. Rival surgeons vying for the same position, a secret society, betrayal, a sizzling slow burn that had me second guessing if I’ve been wrong about them all this time. A wild ride Veiled turned out to be and I was here for every moment of it.
We all know I love a betrayal romance and this one definitely had me tearing up because the heartbreak! Groveling worked for me, so this was a major win.
I am so fascinated by the secret society, I truly had no idea what to think. But I’m excited for the rest of the series and really hoping to see Azara and Michael again.
Yes, just all the dang yepppps!
This book was definitely one of those that I couldn’t put down. The dynamics between the medical field and the secret society threw me off especially since when rules are broken, it can become a life or death situation. That felt so extreme!
And the gossip writer, I’m intrigued, but mostly behind the motive, I’m assuming jealousy. We shall see!

Recommendation: secret society series by claire contreras
It has been years since I’ve read this series, but as far as I can remember the only one’s I’ve read with a secret society. Definitely enjoyed these two and kind of hope Claire will revisit this world.
